Fall Session is calling!

Reviews from a previous group members,

“Kristi did a great job facilitating a safe space to talk about all things related to living as a fat person. This weekly support group became something I looked forward to, because I knew I didn't have to do the exhaustive work of explaining why I deserve to exist as I am, and could just be. The topics were relevant and helpful and I found this space to connect with others with similar experiences very helpful.”

“This group has truly changed my life. The sense of community I’ve found here is unlike any other. It is a place where I feel seen, supported, and understood. Kristi’s warmth, compassion, and therapeutic insight have been incredibly beneficial for my growth and healing. I am so grateful for this experience and the amazing people I have met during this group!”

“This group found me at the exact right time I needed it! Not only did it improve my relationship to myself and my body, it provided the community that I desperately needed to support my own healing. The sessions were thoughtfully facilitated, with helpful topics and structure, but centered all of our experiences and allowed us to build on the themes that resonated the most. I greatly appreciate the work Kristi is doing and the support network she is helping to build.”

Fat Friends Therapeutic Support Group

Living in a fat body can be exhausting in a world that often equates worth with size. Whether you've experienced weight stigma in healthcare, at work, in relationships, or simply while moving through everyday life, you don't have to navigate it alone.

The Fat Friends Therapeutic Support Group is a therapist-led, virtual support group for adults seeking a compassionate community where their experiences are understood, validated, and respected. This is not a weight-loss group, a nutrition program, or a place to focus on changing your body. Instead, we explore what it means to live authentically in the body you have while building self-compassion, resilience, and meaningful connection with others who "get it."

Together, we'll discuss topics such as:

  • Navigating weight stigma and anti-fat bias

  • Body image and body trust

  • Medical trauma and healthcare advocacy

  • Relationships, dating, and intimacy

  • Family dynamics and diet culture

  • Boundaries and self-advocacy

  • Joy, rest, movement, and reclaiming pleasure

  • Building a life that isn't centered on changing your body

This group is grounded in fat-positive, Health at Every Size®-aligned, and body liberation-informed principles. Members are invited to share openly, learn from one another, and find support in a space where all bodies are treated with dignity and respect.

Whether you're just beginning to question diet culture or have been engaged in body liberation work for years, you are welcome here. Healing happens in community, and you deserve a space where your lived experience is believed, your voice matters, and your body is never treated as a problem to solve.
